What is courage?
To me courage is the ability to control fear in a situation where you are afraid of what you are facing. To have courage is to fight for what is right even though it could be dangerous or could get you into trouble with people who are bigger and stronger than you. Moreover, after hearing what Anne Frank’s diary was all about, I think I got a better definition of the word courage. I got different sources, like book reviews and articles on Anne Frank’s diary. When I saw the reviews I was amazed by the amount of courage she had. She used to be a spoiled brat but then when she went into hiding, her attitude changed and she became more mature. She shows courage because in her writing, she seems to not give up hope on humans. In spite of everything she was going through, she still believed that man was good. Now I know that courage also means that despite the number of things that happen to you, bad or good, you must always not give up in what you believe in. So, next time when asking for the meaning of courage, read Anne Frank’s diary and you will find the meaning for courage.
